Data protection for sensitive company data is a priority for businesses using Microsoft 365. Construction firm A.Yoshii, like so many other companies that have invested in the digital journey to accelerate their business and gain competitive advantages over their competitors, chose two years ago to migrate its file server to the cloud using Microsoft SharePoint.
"The process went smoothly, but it is important to remember that the crucial issue of backups and consequent availability of data is the user’s responsibility. "With the support of both Safesystem and Arcserve, the proof of concept was successfully carried out, with the system being configured in less than an hour. In fact, POC has already left the entire system operational, with zero impact on both IT and other areas," recalls the expert, adding that today the company runs several backup copies covering the entire Microsoft 365 environment, such as Outlook emails, Teams conversations, and OneDrive files. "It is a whole mass of data being copied almost in real time and with the added protection of the concept of immutability", comments Kotinda. "The Arcserve system ensures optimal levels of security, scalability, and data compliance because, by adopting the concept of immutability, we are confident that the data contained in it cannot be altered or deleted."
This additional layer of protection delivered by immutability allows, among other advantages, the compliance department to access and lock information without IT intervention when an employee leaves the company. "Previously, IT manually ran a backup copy of all the information accessed by the former employee. Today, the Arcserve tool automatically performs this process, which greatly increases confidentiality. After all, the fewer people access the system, the higher the level of security."
